Eight Trails. One Continuing Journey.
Recovery is not a straight line, and growth does not happen all at once. Like a living forest, a meaningful life develops through preparation, care, adaptation, connection, and time.
The Eight Trails form the educational foundation of The Recovery Grove. Each Trail offers opportunities to explore recovery through practical learning, personal reflection, and activities that encourage meaningful change.
The curriculum follows a thoughtful progression, but your journey remains your own. You are invited to engage with the material at your own pace, revisit lessons when needed, and discover what growth means to you.
Trail One — Preparing the Soil
The journey begins by examining the conditions that support change and creating space for new possibilities.
Trail Two — Planting the Seeds
Explore the intentions, hopes, and choices that can help guide meaningful personal growth.
Trail Three — Growing Strong Roots
Consider the foundations, practices, and sources of stability that help sustain recovery.
Trail Four — Weathering the Storms
Explore how to navigate challenges, uncertainty, and difficult experiences while strengthening resilience.
Trail Five — Pruning for Growth
Reflect on patterns and circumstances that may no longer serve you, and consider what creates room for healthier growth.
Trail Six — Growing Together
Explore the role of relationships, connection, and community in creating a supportive life.
Trail Seven — Harvesting the Grove
Recognize personal growth, appreciate progress, and explore what you have gained along the way.
Trail Eight — Tending the Grove
Bring the journey together by recognizing strengths, identifying ongoing recovery practices, and developing a personal plan for continued growth.
How the Program Works
The Recovery Grove is organized into eight interconnected Trails that explore different aspects of recovery, personal development, and sustainable change.
The curriculum can be used for individual reflection or as part of a facilitated learning group. Its standard format introduces one Trail per week over eight weeks, although additional time may be provided for reflection, discussion, and skill practice.
Each Trail builds on ideas introduced earlier in the program while encouraging participants to connect the material to their own experiences. The goal is not to complete recovery within eight weeks, but to develop understanding, practical skills, and a foundation for continued growth.
Learning at Your Own Pace
There is no single correct way to experience recovery. Participants are encouraged to approach each Trail with curiosity, respect their own boundaries, and return to earlier lessons whenever helpful.
The Recovery Grove recognizes that recovery may involve different experiences, needs, goals, and forms of support. The curriculum is designed to complement—not replace—appropriate professional care, peer support, and other recovery resources.
